Concussion is about a Nigerian Man who is widely trained in the medical profession who is working as a coroner in Pittsburgh, USA. During an autopsy he finds that a man has no obvious injuries to his brain but had gone mad at a very early age. He ordered the brain of Mark Webster to dissected and stained so he could study the brain. He found that the brain released special proteins as a result of the huge and repeated G forces placed on the brain during contact playing NFL over many years. He named this condition Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy or CTE. He found the G forces the brain is subjected to during contact in NFL was well over double what the human brain should be able to cope with. 

I found the movie very interesting from a science point of view and learning what is happening to the brain and how it reacts to such extreme stress. 

I found it also very interesting the power struggle between big corporations and a passionate scientist. It is hard to comprehend the fact that a corporation could try to bury evidence of a condition that is killing people. 

However, it is seen now that Dr Omalu’s research is slowly but surely helping to improve the safety of sports like NFL and prevent the serious injuries that some of the players receive from playing.

I would be interested to look at other sports with similar impact to the head and see if this results in a similar condition.
