My Training History

Hey guys,

So I was a swimmer for 9 years of my life and I only gave up 3 months ago! I became bored and needed something new. So after a soleus injury I began to run as well as completeing Amanda Bisk’s Fresh Body Fit Mind (I have been doing this for 1.5years now).

Since my injury I have become a lot more conscious about looking after my body, so I have been stretching more and completing at least one of Amanda’s video yoga sessions a week. Fair to say my flexibility has improved dramatically and I have found my back and shoulders don’t get sore all the time now too!

So running. I have always hated it, with a passion! But my physio told me that I needed to get out and run to help my calf recover, so reluctantly I headed out for my first run…. it was hard! But I kept going according to my physio’s instructions and slowly I began to get faster and enjoy it! I couldn’t even believe I enjoyed running! I have now been running for 4 months and have had my ups and downs but I still really enjoy it! I also enjoy going for runs with my boyfriend as he is heaps faster so he really pushes me to go harder!

I have never really been overly confident with my body, as I’ve always been surrounded by people who are skinny, yet eat so much junk food. It was so dishearting for me always seeing that they had a ‘better’ body than me yet they are so poorly and I was eating so healthy and training 10 times a week for swimming on top of that! It has been really hard for me. However, I have always taken pride in the fact that I do look after my body so well!

Currently I am finishing my year 12 exams and after that I plan on starting a pretty full on exercise regime around work and social stuff before I move to Queensland!

I am going to write up a program of running, weights and interval training soon for my holidays.

I am also trying out a lower carb diet, as I watched some interesting documentaries called Cereal Killers about training the body to burn fat instead of carbohydrates for energy! I plan on writing a further blog post about this later and really knuckling down and reducing my carbs and increasing my fats to see what happens!

I’d love to hear about your fitness journey, so feel free to send me a message or comment below!
